Geothermal Electric Generators – Chena, Alaska

Geothermal electricity generators at Chena Hot Springs resort and research center, near Fairbanks, Alaska. Warm water from the hot-springs provides energy which is converted to electric power. Two generators are operational while the third (right-most) is offline for repair and maintenance. These generators provide all the electric power for the entire site and a current study is investigating opportunity to provide commercial/utility power for the nearby community.
